HELLO! We are launching a New Blog but first learn how I started in Business

I am Denise Anstey, the Managing Director of Heartfelt Products, born on April 1, 1964. I was a determined child with dreams of becoming an engineer; however, being a girl in the 1980s, I faced barriers that prevented me from pursuing that path. In 1998, a car accident led to a long-standing disability, during which I conceived the idea for the Slik Stik walking stick. This innovative product, featuring lights, an alarm, and red LEDs along the stem, received endorsement from the renowned inventor Trevor Baylis OBE and gained notoriety. In 2009, I was honored to receive the award for British Female Inventor and Innovator for this creation. The Slik Stik made a positive impact on individuals worldwide until an unlicensed company began manufacturing it. I was compelled to petition the government to amend the laws regarding the theft of Intellectual Property, transitioning from Civil to Criminal law, to halt the company's actions. This change is now enacted in the UK, with penalties of up to ten years imprisonment.

Integrity in Business

I have always been deeply passionate about supporting my community and have played a role in initiating numerous community projects throughout my life. Most recently, we established the North Devon Scrub Hub, along with a fundraising initiative that you can learn more about on our other page, 'The North Devon Covid Quilt Project.' I also believe in growing the business through continuous learning and achievement. We have been incredibly fortunate to receive various awards, and I am always thankful for that recognition. Our integrity is paramount to us, and we truly value our customers who have helped us evolve over time. We have just launched a YouTube channel where we are venturing into this new media landscape as novices. Despite having experienced another car accident that has worsened my initial injuries, I will continue to smile and remain ever grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with you.
